Wedding Cakes

Design

An amazing cake starts with a great design.

I love the challenge of bringing your dreams to life. Every cake that I design is unique. My aim is to create a spectacular centrepiece cake that is personal to you, reflecting your individuality, your personality and story. Your cake can be in a contemporary, vintage, traditional or quirky style. I am happy to design whatever you have in mind.

Consultation

A personal design consultation is a great opportunity to meet and talk through the possibilities. Your consultation can be in person, held in the Art of Cake kitchen at my address in St Leonard’s on Sea, East Sussex. This is the ideal way for us to meet and to communicate easily.

However, if restrictions are in place, or the distance is prohibitive, I can offer you an online consultation via Zoom.

Whichever way we meet, please bring along anything that might help with the design of your dream cake. For example, fabric samples, your wedding stationery, details of your flowers, colours, theme/style, venue and maybe even details of your dress (for when the groom is out of earshot!) All these can influence your bespoke cake design. You will be able to let me know your likes and dislikes, and any ideas you have. If you need inspiration, I will do my best to help there as well.

An in person wedding consultation costs £25 and includes a complimentary tasting. Don’t eat dinner before you come!

Delicions Cake Samples

For couples booking a Zoom consultation, there is the option to order a beautiful box of cake samples, price £25 including postage. These will be posted to you via Royal Mail guaranteed next day delivery, to ensure freshness.

Sampling a variety of my delicious cake flavours will help you choose your favourites for your wedding cake.

Please let me know if there are any particular flavours you would definitely like to try, and/or definitely don’t like! Please also advise if there are any allergies I need to be aware of.

Flavours

Your beautiful cake will taste just as stunning as it looks! My recipes have been tried and tested many times to ensure that your cake will be truly delicious. Please have a read through the numerous testimonials and reviews that my delighted clients have sent. All cakes are freshly baked from scratch and made from the finest ingredients. Each tier is lovingly layered with home made buttercreams, sauces and quality preserves, then is coated in a luxurious layer of chocoate ganache before being iced with a top quality fondant icing. (Although sometimes cakes may be finished without fondant if a textured buttercream or semi-naked finish is preferred).

Please see the flavours I can offer. It is usual for different flavours to be chosen for different tiers, so that your guests will have a choice of flavour.

Budget

Following your consultation, I will draw up some design options for you to return and view at a later date.

It is useful for you to come to the consultation with a budget, or possible budget range in mind. I am then able to design within your budget to avoid disappointment.

Ordering

Aim to book your wedding cake as early as possible to be certain of securing your date. Allow six months to a year, or even longer, especially if you are getting married between April to October.

If you wish to secure your date for an order, a deposit of £100 is required to confirm your order. This may be paid by cash or bank transfer. Final balance is payable 4 weeks before your date. For orders with less than a month’s notice, the full payment is required. It is possible to spread the cost by paying in instalments. For more details on payments, delivery and set up, fresh flowers and much more, please see my Terms and Conditions.

Toppers

Personalised character models or other items can be commissioned as a topper for your cake.

Groom’s Cake

In addition to your main wedding cake, why not consider the option of a cake designed especially for the Groom. Often the main cake will be a stunning traditional tiered cake with beautiful sugarcrafted flowers and lacework. The Groom’s cake can be a quirky, completely different feature cake which will reflect his particular interests and provide a real talking point at your wedding. Perhaps this will be a fantastic surprise for him! Or maybe he will enjoy planning his special cake. Another great idea, if you don’t want a separate cake, is to include a hidden surprise at the back of your traditional cake for your guests to discover.
